Each year, Borgata holds a winter poker tournament that draws many of the best grinders from all across the Northeast. This year’s 2016 Borgata Winter Poker Open is scheduled from January 19 to February 5. There will be 45 different events with a guarantee of at least $6.7 million ready to be paid out. The biggest highlights will be a $2 million guarantee opening event during the first week, a $1 million guarantee deep stack event at the start of the second week, and a $3 million guarantee main event from January 31 of February 5 to close out the tournament.
The first event, the deep stack no limit hold them with a $2 million guarantee, will begin on January 19 at 11 AM. Poker players can participate in this event for a $560 buy-in. The event will be held in 30-minute levels and in the evening there is a smaller qualifier tournament that visitors can participate in for only a $150 buy-in. This main event will be taking place from Tuesday at 11 AM through Thursday at 7 PM. Each evening will also hold additional qualifier rounds.
On the weekend there will be black chip bounty no limit hold ‘em offered for many different people. Saturday will be a general no limit hold ‘em game with a $400 buy-in as well as a ladies only no limit hold ‘em. On Sunday, they will be a seniors event as well as another round of super stack no limit hold ‘em.
Moving into next week, after January 25 there will be preparation for the second main event and smaller tournaments throughout the days. This will be the $1 million guarantee event. One other notable event will be on January 29 at 1 PM, which is a 200 K guaranteed six-man no limit hold ‘em event. With more events throughout the weekend and the ultimate final $3 million guaranteed event on Monday, February 1, the Borgata Winter Poker Open of 2016 is looking like an event that you won’t want to miss.
