There were a number of big winners on the casino scene this past week. From players at the casinos to the casinos themselves, we have all of the latest news you need to know.

Wynn Las Vegas Player Wins $1.5 Million On Slot Machine

A player at the Wynn Las Vegas just saw their lives get changed forever. While they didn’t care to share their name publicly, what we do know is that one lucky player was able to place a $50 bet on a Dragon Link slot machine at the Wynn, which resulted in a $1.5 million win from the spin. The jackpot was on a progressive slot machine where players are encouraged to wager a little extra to be in the running for the massive jackpot. After seeing the photo from the machine, the total payout to the player was $1,588,190. There weren’t any other details released over the winning player.

Slot machines have been hitting big lately but it’s typically the Wheel of Fortune game that delivers. Another mystery player found themselves $1.3 million richer when they played on a slot machine over at the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino back in June. That huge score came off of the aforementioned Wheel of Fortune slot.

We saw another more major winner come from a Wheel of Fortune slot machine in May at the D Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. That anonymous player walked away that day with $1.4 million. It goes to show, you never know what you’ll get when you go for a spin.

California Man Wins $245K At Paris Las Vegas

Speaking of big wins, a game of Three Card Poker just changed one lucky Californian man’s life this week at the Paris Las Vegas on the Strip. Miguel Tornel was visiting Las Vegas from California with his wife when he sat down at a table. After playing a hand and investing in the side bonus, he eventually came away with $245,678. Tornel was able to secure this victory by getting a royal flush.

When casino officials were talking to him after the big win, Tornel said that he received a premonition that he would be successful this night and he turns out he was correct.

The Las Vegas Strip has seen a couple of big scores lately. Two players were able to net huge payouts that totaled over $1.5 million in earnings just in March alone.

One of those aforementioned winners was Michael Takes. Takes was at the LINQ Hotel + Experience when he scored $1,041,779 from a progressive jackpot while playing Let It Ride. That same month, Edward Marx won $473,455 at Caesars Palace playing Pai Gow Poker.

US Casinos Have Phenomenal Quarter

Even though there have been some big winners at casinos recently, don’t worry about them. They’re doing just fine.

It’s been a great quarter for United States casino properties as all commercial slot machines, sports betting, iGaming and table games were able to net a gross gaming revenue of $14.81 billion. This is up a whopping 8.8 percent year-over-year and is now their best quarter in history. Their previous highest was a $14.31 billion mark back in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Along with this huge collective record, there were a handful of states that exceeded their own expectations. Nine states were able to set quarterly records. Among them w ere Nevada, Iowa, Arkansas, New York, Oklahoma, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Oregon.

When looking at the first half of the 2022-year, commercial casinos in the country have generated $29.16 billion. This is currently on pace to surpass the $53 billion total that they picked up at the end of 2021. It seems like all of these casino properties in the United States are not only getting back into the swing of things following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are thriving.
