College Football Week 11 Betting Odds

LSU Tigers fans put their hopes in Joe Burrow, who is the current favorite for the Heisman Trophy.

Week 11 of the college football season brings sports bettors the biggest game of the year so far: the No 1 LSU Tigers versus the No 2 Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite being the lower-rated team, Nick Saban’s squad is nearly a touchdown favorite at home. LSU, meanwhile, has its first Heisman Trophy candidate at the QB position (Joe Burrow) since Billy Cannon won the award back in 1959.

The Georgia Bulldogs moved back up to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 poll after their win in Jacksonville over the Florida Gators. The Oregon Ducks remained at No. 7 and the Utah Utes moved up to No. 8 as both Pac-12 front-runners earned impressive road wins last Saturday. All three of these teams are hoping that they can gain some more ground in the rankings this week as three of the nation’s top five teams face ranked, undefeated opponents in Week 11.

No. 1 LSU Tigers at No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (-6)

This is the one that college football fans and sports gamblers have been waiting for this season. Joe Burrow and the 8-0 LSU Tigers squaring off against Tua Tagovailoa and the 8-0 SU and 4-4 ATS Alabama Crimson Tide.  Bettors should remember that Tua Tagovailoa is technically a game-time decision, but he returned to practice this week and it’ll be tough to keep him off of the field barring any major setbacks. He should play this week, but if you’re a cautious bettor, keep his status in mind.

Joe Burrow has taken the clear lead in the Heisman Trophy race with 2,805 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns with only four interceptions through LSU’s first eight games. A win at Alabama would virtually lock up the trophy for the Senior quarterback. The Tigers are 0-8 SU and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games against Alabama. The UNDER is 7-0-2 in the last nine games between these two rivals.

No. 5 Penn State Nittany Lions (-7) at No. 13 Minnesota Golden Gophers

In the less prestigious battle of two undefeated teams this Saturday, the 8-0 SU and 5-3 ATS Penn State Nittany Lions are on the road against the 8-0 SU and 5-2-1 ATS* Golden Gophers. Minnesota hasn’t really played anyone of note this season, but the Golden Gophers have looked the part in outscoring their opponents 168 to 41 over their current 4-0 SU and ATS streak.

Penn State is 5-1 SU and 3-2-1 ATS in its last six games against Minnesota. The Nittany Lions are a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS away from home this season, most recently defeating Michigan State 28-7.

No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes at No. 16 Wisconsin Badgers (-9.5)

If Minnesota should stumble this week, the winner of this Big Ten showdown could be waiting in the wings to take advantage. The Golden Gophers are leading the Big Ten West with a 5-0 conference record, but they still have remaining games against both Iowa and Wisconsin, who are each 3-2 in conference play.

If Minnesota loses to Penn State, the winner of this game would control its own destiny in the Big Ten West and stay alive to win the Big Ten Championship as a two-loss team. Wisconsin is 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against Iowa.

No. 11 Baylor Bears (-1.5) at TCU Horned Frogs

Like Minnesota, the Baylor Bears have looked good this season en route to an 8-0 SU and 4-4 ATS record, but they haven’t really been tested. That will change over the next three weeks when Baylor visits the TCU Horned Frogs this Saturday as a 1.5-point road favorite and then hosts the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns next. Can the Bears pass the test?

Sports Betting Terminology

  • SU – Straight Up. Whether the team wins or not, regardless of betting line.
  • ATS – Against the Spread. Whether the favorite covered the point spread or not.
