The famed Mega Moolah online slot game from Microgaming lived up to its lofty name last month, after a player on the Genesis Casino platform became an instant multimillionaire.
The lucky winner – who lives in the United Kingdom and prefers to remain anonymous at this time – found themselves playing Mega Moolah back on November 8. After placing a wager worth €7.25 (£6.25), the player watched as the onscreen reels whirled and clicked into place to trigger the game’s progressive jackpot wheel-spinning side game.
From there, the winner saw what every Mega Moolah online slot enthusiast wishes for when the prize wheel landed on the single silver Mega Jackpot space.
Just like that, the slot game aficionado saw their account balance swell with an infusion of €3,252,353.70. The massive seven-figure score was paid out in a lump sum, as are all online casino jackpots operated by the Microgaming network.

Mega Moolah Pays Big Bucks to Ring in 13th Anniversary
Just weeks before the recent jackpot was won, Microgaming celebrated the 13th anniversary of its signature Mega Moolah slot, which launched in October of 2006.
The five-reel, 25-payline game centers around the theme of an African safari, with reel symbols including fauna from the Serengeti such as elephants, giraffes, and Mega Moolah’s mascot – a grinning golden lion.
While playing the base game, Mega Moolah fans hope to hit a randomly triggered bonus game that presents players with a prize wheel. This wheel features 20 colored spaces, each of which is attached to one of Mega Moolah’s four progressive jackpot tiers – Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega.
Ten of the wheel spaces trigger the Mini Jackpot, which seeds at $10 (or the commensurate local currency), while the Minor ($100) and Major ($10,000) jackpots are linked to six and three spaces, respectively.
That only leaves a lone space with which to trigger the Mega jackpot, one which seeds at $1 million and only climbs from there.
In 2015, Jon Heywood – a former British soldier turned slot game legend – set what was then the world record for largest online slot jackpot payout ever when he bagged more than £13 million.
That mark was smashed in September of last year, however, when Mega Moolah’s topline jackpot topped the $21 million plateau.
All told, Microgaming has paid out more than €1 billion in combined jackpots since Mega Moolah’s launch.
This year alone, the game has distributed over €121 million in Mega Moolah winnings via 1.7 million jackpots ranging from Mini to Mega. Ten of those winners pocketed either seven- or eight-figure rewards, while another 570 players “settled” for €10,000 or more.
