After wondering if Tennessee sports betting will be here in time for Fall football season legalized online sportsbooks are coming to Tennessee November 1.

The Tennessee Lottery’s Sports Wagering Commission approved four licenses from Fan Duel, Bet MGM and Draft Kings, while Action 24/7 was conditionally approved to operate in the state. Action 24/7 is billed as the only platform to actually operate in the state, and is stationed mainly in Nashville. However, it’s Bet MGM that’s teamed up with the Tennessee Titans to become the teams official betting partner of the college football team.

“We are thrilled to bring BetMGM to the state of Tennessee,” said Gil Beverly, Titans Sr. Vice President, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer.

Live in Tennessee? This could be you very soon—Considering we’re able to safely go to bars, by then.

Tennessee is the first state to decide to offer mobile-only betting. With the unexpected onset of the coronavirus pandemic, this was undoubtedly a wise move on the Lottery Commission’s part—However, this means betting in retail locations will be illegal in the state. However, the state is slower to actually enact the mobile sportsbooks, with 6 other states legalizing & launching both online and brick-and-mortor betting locations in the time that Tennessee betting became legal (Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Montana, Washington and Oklahoma). Virginia is in a similar position to Tennessee, having legalized betting on July 1, but delayed actually rolling out sports books, licenses and operators.
