Pennsylvania’s Parx Casino Inks Partnership with Evolution Gaming
Nearly six months to the day after it became one of the first venues in the state to launch an online / mobile gambling platform Parx Casino in Pennsylvania has expanded its offerings to include live dealer games.
In a press release issued on January 10, Parx Casino – located in Bensalem Township near Philadelphia and owned by Greenwood Racing Inc. – announced a new partnership with the Swedish live dealer casino provider Evolution Gaming.
As part of the deal, Parx Casino will soon begin spreading live dealer casino games like blackjack and roulette via its online / mobile platforms in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Live dealer casino games are operated using human dealers and physical cards, wheels, and dice rather than pixelated graphics and animations. Players place wagers as per usual, while watching a live streamed broadcast in real time to observe the action and results from various casino games.
As the only live dealer casino game provider currently offering the service in regulated U.S. markets, Evolution Gaming enjoys a temporary monopoly over the budding American industry.
Accordingly, the company has already built and expanded a dedicated studio in Atlantic City, New Jersey to facilitate live dealer games offered by Garden State operators such as Hard Rock AC, Unibet, and DraftKings.
To further the company’s investment in American expansion, Evolution Gaming secured approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) last September to open its first live dealer studio in the Keystone State.
Two months later, the company signed a deal with Penn National Gaming which will eventually bring live dealer games to the online / mobile wing of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
Parx Casino Proud to Launch Pennsylvania’s First Live Dealer Games
In the jointly issued press release, Matthew Cullen – who serves as senior vice president of iGaming & sports for Parx Casino – pointed to the venue’s history of achieving first-mover status in Pennsylvania’s rapidly expanding online / mobile casino industry:
“Parx was the first Pennsylvania casino to offer RNG Blackjack games online, so extending our online offering to include world-leading Live Casino from Evolution is a natural next step.
Our online Blackjack player base, in particular, will love Evolution’s Live Blackjack offering, which includes Infinite Blackjack, with no limit on the number of seats available at the table, as well as several other Blackjack variants.
Overall, we are very confident that all player types will be very excited by the rollout of Parx Live Casino in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.”
The importance of becoming the first to market with live dealer games was established in New Jersey back in 2016, when the Golden Nugget licensing group’s partnership with Ezugi NJ instantly turned the former into the state’s dominant iGaming operator.
Evolution Gaming Enjoys Benefits of American Monopoly
As part of the aforementioned press release, Evolution Gaming’s chief commercial officer Sebastian Johannisson praised Parx Casino as the perfect partner for the company’s initial foothold in Pennsylvania:
“We are delighted to be working with Parx and look forward very much to delivering their online Live Casino service.
With table games subject to lower tax, our Live Casino is a very attractive proposition for operators too, as well as its wide appeal to players – both familiar with online and those having played in the bricks and mortar casino – offering a very important and significant contribution to operator revenues.”
Johannisson alluded to the tax rate of 16 percent applied to gross gaming revenue derived from online / mobile casino games in Pennsylvania, which is vastly lower than the 54 percent rate levied on slot games.
