Online poker players living in New Jersey will get their treats early this October, as the Garden State’s two leading operators have scheduled tournament series throughout the month.
The PokerStars.NJ platform will host its fourth annual New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP) series between October 12-28.
And the WSOP.com/NJ platform will bring back the Fall Online Championship series between October 6-20.
All told, members of New Jersey’s online poker community will spend the next four weeks competing for their share of more than $2 million in guaranteed prize pools.
PokerStars launched its New Jersey-facing online poker site in March of 2016, and by October of that year, local players were treated to the inaugural NJCOOP.
That debut series featured 43 individual tournaments and the schedule has only grown from there. This year, players will find 50 unique events on the 2019 PokerStars NJCOOP schedule, each offering a guaranteed prize pool ranging from $8,000 to $100,000.
Buy-ins for the 2019 NJCOOP begin at only $30, and the bulk of the schedule is set between the $100 and $300 price points.
The $300 entry fee tier includes the 2019 NJCOOP Main Event, a two-day No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament featuring a $100,000 guarantee. The NJCOOP Main Event kicks off on Saturday, October 26 and concludes the following day.
In addition to No Limit Texas Hold’em, the NJCOOP schedule lets players test their skills in a variety of poker variants – including Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, mixed Hold’em / Omaha, and Limit Hold’em.
NJCOOP players can also participate in several of PokerStars’ popular tournament formats, such as Progressive Knockout (KO), Bubble Rush, Escalating Antes, DeepStack, Turbo, Hyper-Turbo, Marathon, Zoom, High-Roller, 4-Max, 6-Max, and 8-Max.
Among the promotions on tap ahead of this year’s NJCOOP are a Main Event Depositor Freeroll putting $7,500 in Main Event seats up for grabs. In order to claim a free Main Event Depositor Freeroll entry, players must place a successful deposit with PokerStarsNJ.com between October 11 and October 26.
Second Chance Freerolls with $20,000 worth of NJCOOP tournament tickets will run on a daily basis, as will special Spin & Go one-table tournaments with a Main Event ticket up top for as little as $3.
And while details for this year’s edition haven’t been confirmed as of yet, the 2018 NJCOOP produced three Platinum Pass winners, each of whom received a $25,000 buy-in and prize package for the inaugural PokerStars Player’s Championship (PSPC) event. With the New Jersey facing site already advertising the 2020 PSPC, the upcoming NJCOOP is likely to be a proving ground for aspiring Platinum Pass winners.
The WSOP.com/NJ platform is New Jersey’s leading online poker room in terms of monthly rake revenue, and the site is set for yet another Fall Online Championships series.
The action gets underway on October 6 with a $30 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament featuring a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool. That same day, a $215 buy-in Sunday Special event revolves around a $100,000 guarantee.
Collectively, the 2019 Fall Online Championship schedule offers $1,074,722 in guarantees across the 37-event schedule.
Buy-ins range from $30 to $1,000, but the bulk of the schedule offers affordable entry fees between $100 and $215. On October 20, the $525 buy-in Main Event puts a guaranteed prize pool of $175,000 on the line for No Limit Texas Hold’em enthusiasts.
For folks who prefer to play a bit higher, a $1,000 buy-in High-Roller event with a $85,000 guaranteed prize pool takes place on October 15.
