Many people are frustrated to hear that PartyPoker has postponed its Pokerfest event. With nearly 2.5 million dollars in prizes the event was set to begin on September 27. Partypoker runs over 80 different tournaments each year. However, Partypoker has stated that they are forced to suspend the event until the issues can be resolved. The problem was sited to be caused by faulty software updates that were installed last week.
Golan Shaked, director of games for bwin.party (The Company that runs the online Partypoker software), stated that:
“With a total prize pool of $2.5 million up for grabs, we are not willing to take even the slightest risk with our players’ experience during the 80 events that make up Pokerfest. We understand that the postponement is frustrating and disappointing to you, our loyal customers, but providing a service that gives you the best experience possible is our number one priority.”
Because of the postponement, all involved players will be compensated with a $50,000 freeroll. The date that is now set for the event to begin is October 25th. Due to the month long delay Partypoker is working hard to make it worth the wait. Shaked states that the company would like to “apologise to [their] loyal players for having to delay this highly anticipated event”.
