The state of Pennsylvania – like many other states around the country – continues to see rapid gaming growth. They’ve reported their August numbers and that’s where we’ll start our weekly recap of the casino news.

Pennsylvania Online Casinos Reel In $107 Million From Bettors During August

The online gambling numbers for Pennsylvania have been released and they certainly paint a nice picture of what might be on the way for the state. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board just announced that the state was able to bring in $107 million in online gambling revenues during the month of August 2022. This is a whopping 20.8 percent increase compared to the revenue they had in August of 2021 when they pulled in $88 million.

One major downside of this year-over-year comparison was involving poker. Poker revenue in the Keystone state fell down by a large 14 percent compared to August 2021. Back then, they brought in $3.1 million compared to the $1.6 million they got in 2022. It’s unclear why the drop as it’s possible that during the pandemic, more people were into poker when things were locked down whereas now they’re into other activities.

Retail gambling in Pennsylvania admittedly had a slower month of August than previously anticipated. However, that loss was made up for in online revenue. Online gambling in this state have been booming throughout 2022 and it doesn’t look like it is set to slow down anytime soon. We’ll see how they did during the first month of the football season when revenues are released in a month’s time.

The greatest player in NFL history just inked himself a brand-new endorsement deal. Wynn Las Vegas has announced a new partnership agreement with TB12, Tom Brady’s fitness company. The entire foundation of the company is to model the training regimen of the most iconic quarterback of all time. The group is expected to serve guests at the Las Vegas Strip casino property following this partnership.

Wynn believes that the addition of a wellness center such as TB12 could be a significant boost for their area moving forward. They feel like guests can now reach obtainable wellness goals far easier than they could in the past. We’ll see if this attracts a new type of tourist to The Strip.

Brady is still currently playing in the NFL at the age of 45. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal-caller holds essentially every single major quarterback record in league history and finds himself on another quest to win the Super Bowl. Most quarterbacks are already in the twilight of their careers at this time but Brady continues to defy Father Time and many believe it is due to his diet and workout routine.

Hard Rock And Seminole Gaming Raise Employee Wages

Both the Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming have decided to be very generous to their employees. That’s because they’ve given everyone a raise at their establishments. The total compensation that is set to be increased to these workers is $100 million at the moment. Almost every single position that anyone can apply for received a raise as well. That includes cooks, call center, security, public space and housekeeps just to name a few of them.

This massive investment in their staff is something that they’ve been thinking about doing for a while. Hard Rock said in one of their statements that, “This recent $100 million investment in its team members is part of an ongoing effort to honor and appreciate its workforce, which has recently included paying frontline employee’s bonuses during the pandemic and other expanded benefits.”

The increase in wages is surely to entice more people to get back into the working environment moving forward. There are still over 1,600 jobs available at Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming.
