Lil Baby

Rappers often rap about money, and some show bricks of cash in their music videos. Men and women in the hip-hop industry earn that money and sometimes show it off. Then, there are those who win it.

Lil Baby now fits into all of these categories.

When in Las Vegas…

On Saturday, August 27, rapper Lil Baby wrapped an arduous tour with Chris Brown. The two headlined the 27-performance “One of Them Ones” tour that started in Raleigh on July 15 and ended at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 27.

MGM Resorts operates and co-owns T-Mobile Arena, and one of the MGM-owned casinos likely hosted Lil Baby and his entourage for the weekend. And it appears that Lil Baby gambled a bit at one of those casinos.

Lil Baby was a bit vague as to how he won $1M, but reports claim that he hit a jackpot. He had been gambling it up in a VIP (high-stakes) part of an MGM casino, and there is video of him playing at a VIP baccarat table. It is unclear how he won the $1M, but it could have been on a bonus bet.

But he did win that million.

And not only did he spread his winnings out for an ideal photo op, he also gave each of his friends with him $10K. Friend BlocBoyJB was there for all of it and received one of those $10K bricks of cash.

Money Management

Most financial experts would probably not recommend doling out $10K chunks of a $1M jackpot to friends. Lil Baby is loyal, though, and rewarded the friends who stood by him. And the crew undoubtedly celebrated in style. The rest of it, though, did go to a money manager for investments.

Lil Baby confirmed that he did plan to invest most of his winnings.

He isn’t a new player to the rap game, and he grew up knowing how to hustle. Dominique Armani Jones is a product of Atlanta, born in 1994 and raised in the streets. He dropped his first mixtape in 2017, in his early 20s but with mentors like Young Thug and Gunna in his corner. His debut album Harder Than Ever dropped in 2018 and sailed to the heights of Billboard charts.

Having just wrapped a North American tour, Lil Baby had also just been in the news surrounding the August release of the Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby documentary.

Just last year, Lil Baby claimed that his net worth topped $100M.

The rapper also spent time in Atlanta recently meeting with Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, as he aims to further understand his role in a larger community conversation.
