What is Super 6 Baccarat?
Super 6 baccarat is a popular variation of the classic online casino games. Like in traditional baccarat, cards 2-9 are worth their numeric value while aces are worth 1 and faces are worth 0. The scoring is the same too – if your cards add up to a double digit worth, you simply drop the first digit to be left with a final score. The aim is to correctly predict whether you or the banker will have the highest score, or if it’ll be a tie.
Super 6 is different from traditional baccarat in that there is no commission paid on winning banker bets. This makes the payout slightly better. However if the banker scores a 6, you’ll receive a diminished payout. There is also a side bet from which the variation gets its name – more on this later!
How to Play Baccarat Super 6
The Bet
When you first join a super 6 table, be it a casino site or via casino app for android you’ll have to place a bet on either yourself, the banker or that the result will be a tie.
The Deal
Once the bet is in, the dealer will deal you both at least two cards. Note that the third card rule applies in Super 6!
The Outcome
If you correctly predicted the outcome of the game, you’ll receive a fast payout in line with the bet you made.
Baccarat Super 6 Rules
There are a few things to emphasise before you take on the banker! Check out these key baccarat rules:
Drop the Digit
Nine is the highest possible score in baccarat. If your card values add up to more than 9, you’ll drop the first digit. For example, a score of 16 becomes a score of 6.
Rare Ties
Ties happen far more rarely than banker or player wins, so they receive higher payouts. Note that the house edge is higher for tie bets also.
Baccarat Super 6 Bet Types
In super 6 baccarat, the type of bet you make will decide whether you win or lose! Here is some more information about each type of bet.
Banker Bet
A banker bet in super 6 pays out at 1:1, except when the banker scores a 6 when the payout drops to 1:2.
Player Bets
Betting on yourself is always a good strategy, right? Player bets pay out at 1:1.
Tie Bets
As previously mentioned, tie bets happen more rarely than the other two options. They usually payout at 8:1, though you may find a 9:1 casino out there. We recommend avoiding tie bets because of the high house edge.
Super 6
Super 6 is the name of the game as well as a fun side bet where you can bet that the banker will score a 6.
Super 6 Payouts
Payouts can vary from casino-to-casino, and regardless of the casino software provider, but the payouts for each bet in super 6 baccarat are usually as follows:
Bet Type | House Edge | Payout |
---|---|---|
Player Bet | 1.24% | 1:1 |
Banker Bet | 1.46% | 1:1 1:2 if the banker scores a 6 |
Tie Bet | 14.36% | 8:1 |
Super 6 Bet | 29.98% | 12:1 |
Super 6 Strategies
Bet on Yourself
Unlike in traditional baccarat, in super 6 the player bet holds the lowest house edge. For that reason you should bet on yourself to gain the highest chance of winning!
Ignore Past Results
Contrary to what the online casino might advertise, there is no such thing as a ‘hot’ or ‘cold’ table. Your odds of winning baccarat bets are the same whether you won or lost the hand before.
Avoid Side Bets
Even though it’s the name of the game, the Super 6 bet holds a house edge which is simply too high to put money on. We recommend steering clear of side and tie bets.
