In addition to the regular symbols on the reels, you’ll see hearts with sparkling diamonds around them. These have cash amounts written on them. There are also golden hearts, which say ‘mini’, ‘minor’ or ‘major’. Those refer to the first 3 of the 4 progressive jackpots.
You need 4 or more of these special diamond symbols to trigger the respins feature.
Before your spins start, three of the symbols will form a line in the middle of the reels. They will get a gold surround – and you’ll see a small lock on the left-hand side. Above the reels you see a meter showing 3 respins.
At this point the regular symbols are no longer in play. Your objective is to get more of the hearts. Every time you get one next to your group, the gold surround extends and the win on all of the current hearts increases. If you get a heart outside of your group (corner to corner does not link them), they stay on the reels. This gives you an opportunity to increase your links if you get one or more hearts in between.
Every time you get a new heart involved in your linked group – you reset to 3 more respins. This can keep the game going for a long time if they come regularly.
In addition to the smaller jackpots and increasing cash prizes, you can win the bigger ‘grand’ jackpot. To do this you need to cover all 15 spaces on the reels with hearts before you run out of respins.
I am sure that anyone that has played ‘Lightning Link’ slots will immediately see the similarities – as well as the subtle differences.
