House of the Dragon Release Date

Everybody is wondering, “when is House of the Dragon’ coming out? The new series is set to premiere sometime this year, in 2022. Beyond this, we don’t know an exact date — yet. Watch this space for updates on the series’ release.

It’s safe to say it will not premiere in February, so fans can expect the prequel from March, all the way to December — but we’ll be surprised if we have to wait 10 months to watch, so hopefully, audiences can expect it sooner. One thing we do know? Filming for season 1 has wrapped.

What is House of the Dragon About?

House of the Dragon is based on the series Fire & Blood (real ones know the original book series rightful name isn’t Game of Thrones, but A Song of Ice & Fire). This story is set 200 years before the Fire & Ice series the original GoT series is based on.

More specifically, House of the Dragon will follow the Targaryen civil war, ‘Dance of the Dragons’ that plagued Westeros, and leader King Viseryk I Targaryen 200 years before the events of the original novels.

The Fire & Blood series will have two volumes, the first volume was released in November 2018.

The second volume doesn’t have an official release date yet. Like most George RR. Martin works, you can expect to wait a year or five for the second volume.
