How Long is the Las Vegas Strip in Miles?

The Las Vegas Strip is a 6.8 km, or 4.2 miles, long road located on the popular Las Vegas Boulevard. The jewel of Nevada is known for its famous Las Vegas casinos and resorts, and the Las Vegas strip in particular is known for its dense concentration of both.

How Long Does it Take to Walk the Entire Las Vegas Strip?

If you plan a trip to Las Vegas, you’ll likely wonder what the best way to get around the strip is. From our experience, there is no better way to see the Strip than to simply walk. This lets you to notice all the small sights and details that make Vegas unique.

Again, the Vegas strip is 4.2 miles long. This is a fairly short distance and can be walked by anyone with a moderate fitness level. We do caution against walking during the summer months (depending on the heat you’re used to!) as the temperature can climb to dangerous levels. If you walk during the summer months, be sure to pack enough water and sunscreen for the day.

So, how long can you expect to walk to cover the distance of the Las Vegas strip? If you are taking a brisk walk from the beginning to the end of the strip, without stopping to play Las Vegas craps or Casino War, you can expect a walk of around 45 min to 1 hour. Be sure to wear some comfortable walking shoes and you should be able to make it with ease.

Where does the Las Vegas Strip Start and End?

Even though the Las Vegas strip is relatively short, it attracts more than 43 million visitors every year. This is a massive amount of people coming through the Strip looking to find out what it’s really like to play casino games in Vegas. So, where does the Strip start and end?

Well, it’s important to note that the Las Vegas Strip is located in an unincorporated area of Vegas known as “Paradise”. The strip starts at Sahara Avenue up until Russel Road. If you are looking at landmarks, the starting point would be the “welcome to Las Vegas” sign, and would end at “The Strat” (previously known as the Stratosphere), a casino in Vegas which allows smoking in the gaming area.
