Georgia Looks to Make History in 2024
The 2022-23 college football season came to an end Monday night in Los Angeles with what college football betting fans expected most of the season all along: No. 1 Georgia becoming the first repeat national champion in the College Football Playoff era. The Dawgs obliterated No. 3 TCU 65-7 at SoFi Stadium to also become the first overall repeat champ since Alabama in 2011 & ’12. It was the largest margin of victory not just in a CFP game ever but any bowl game ever!
Georgia is the 14th team to win back-to-back titles since the Associated Press began naming a champion in 1936. No team has threepeated in that era – the last to do so was Minnesota from 1934-36. On the precipice of history, Head Coach Kirby Smart is confident that the foundations of a dynasty are in place and we may well see the first threepeat in almost a century.
The College Football Playoff semifinals for the 2023-24 season are both on New Year’s Day at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, and the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana. The title game is Jan. 8, 2024, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
According to Bovada Sportsbook, Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs are the early +300 favorites to make history.
