Men’s Money in the Bank Match – Seth Rollins

In my opinion, the two most likely candidates for Mr. Money in the Bank are Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Drew McIntyre. Rollins is on an absolute tear as of late following his spectacular three-match series against Cody Rhodes.

Although he went 0-3, his series against Rhodes has reminded many of why Rollins is one the best pro wrestlers around.

The “Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre has been having a solid resurgence, teaming with the New Day and facing off against his on-again/off-again friend Sheamus. McIntyre has already called his shot for the Undisputed Title at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, in September.

For that reason, I’m inclined to think that he won’t win at Money in the Bank. A pre-announced cash-in can be a great moment (see Rob van Dam vs John Cena at ECW One Night Stand for proof), but I don’t feel that would work for Drew.

In my opinion, Rollins is a solid lock because of the main event of SummerSlam: Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar. Rollins cashing in during the Reigns vs Lesnar main event of WrestleMania 31 is one of the top WWE moments of all time. My feeling is that we could see a repeat down in Nashville in July.

Women’s Money in the Bank Match – Lacey Evans

Current champions Bianca Belair and Ronda Rousey will need to have eyes in the backs of their heads in Las Vegas. With Roman Reigns not appearing at the Premium Live Event, the best chance for a cash-in at the event will be against one of the two.

The field for this year’s match is one of the most exciting yet. Raquel Rodriguez is flying high after arriving from NXT, Alexa Bliss is having a solid return, Liv Morgan has impressed time and again, and Asuka and Becky Lynch have been tearing it up in the main event of Raw for weeks. Barring a last-minute change of direction, I get the sense that Lacey Evans will pick up the win.

Evans returned from maternity leave with a new character and has connected with the crowds through her emotional vignettes detailing her abusive childhood in poverty, her service as a US Marine, and her journey to the WWE.

In all honesty, Lacey Evans should already have won the title (the Sassy Southern Belle was a great heel character) and I think she’s being positioned to go against Ronda. Plus, the Women’s Right is a phenomenally sneaky finisher which could lead to a great Money in the Bank moment.

Although there are plenty of likely candidates in the field, I think Asuka could be a dark horse. With Rhea Ripley out for an indeterminate time and Becky Lynch suffering an emotional meltdown since losing the title, Bianca Belair needs a strong challenger. Asuka would certainly fit the bill. That being said, you can never count out Big Time Becks…

Raw Women’s Championship Match – Bianca Belair

Belair’s original opponent, Rhea Ripley, was ruled out through injury and Carmella won the number one contender’s match to replace her. Mella has a great track record at this PPV: she not only won the first Women’s Money in the Bank match, but she also went on to successfully cash in to win the Smackdown Women’s Title.

Belair will be able to defeat Mella handily but I’m expecting a great match. They had some fun matches last year, including a live match at the Rolling Loud festival.

Smackdown Women’s Championship Match – Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey finally won the title at WrestleMania Backlash and has been impressive so far as a champion. Unlike her predecessor, she has taken on all challengers and had some exciting matches against the likes of Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi.

Natalya is a seasoned veteran who brings all the intensity of the Hart Dungeon to all of her matches (see her recent match on NXT against Cora Jade for example). I don’t see her defeating Rousey, but I am expecting a technical showcase between the two competitors.

United States Championship Match – Theory

Although Bobby Lashley has been on a tear recently, I think the champion Theory will eke out a victory in Sin City. The youngest United States Champion in history came face to face this past Monday with arguably one of the greatest United States Champions of all time, John Cena.

Returning for his twentieth anniversary, Cena was accosted by the brash Theory, and fans were given a sneak peek at a potential matchup between the two.

Although I really want to see Lashley will gold again, I feel that there are bigger things in store for the All-Mighty. After losing his WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber, Lashley has slowly built his way back up and the crowd is right along with him. I’d expect to see Lashley challenging for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship again before long.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – The Usos

I’ll preface this by saying I really want the Street Profits to win. They were fun champions who put on some fantastic displays when defending their titles. The tag team division could use an injection of fresh ideas after the now one calendar year dominance of the Usos.

I think that the Usos will pick up the win, however, as their fortunes seem to be intrinsically tied into that of their cousin, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The Usos have been lucky though as two sets of recent challengers have been sidelined by injury (Rick Boogs at WrestleMania 38 and Randy Orton on Smackdown), but I think that luck will continue until SummerSlam at least.
