Cross-sport props for Super Bowl 57 have been released.

The National Hockey League is currently on its All-Star break, with the game taking place on Saturday night in Sunrise, Florida, hosted by the Florida Panthers for the second time, with the first being in 2003. The Panthers were scheduled to host the 2021 All-Star Game, but it was canceled due to the COVID pandemic.

During this break, there will be no live NHL regular-season games to bet on until Monday. However, there are already several cross-sport props available at top sportsbooks, including the NHL and the upcoming Super Bowl 57 on February 12th between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. While Kansas City doesn’t have a hockey team, Philadelphia does, just not a very good one as the Flyers entered the break with 51 points and seventh place in the Metropolitan Division.

One of the cross-sport props features the Flyers, pitting the number of two-minute minor penalties called during their home game against the Seattle Kraken on Super Bowl Sunday against the total number of sacks in Super Bowl 57. The bet is +100 for the minor penalties and -130 for the sacks.

In Philly’s last game before the break, they had four minor penalties called against them. During the regular season, the Eagles led the NFL with a franchise-record 70 sacks, just two shy of the league’s single-season record, while the Chiefs finished second in the league with 55 total sacks.

Caps’ Ovechkin Still Dominant

The Washington Capitals star, Alex Ovechkin, has surpassed Gordie Howe for the second-most goals scored in NHL history this season. At 37 years old, Ovechkin is still going strong and has put up impressive numbers this season, with 34 goals and 22 assists in 52 games played, averaging nearly one point per game. A cross-sport prop bet is available for Ovechkin’s total points in the Capitals’ home game against the San Jose Sharks on Super Bowl Sunday, with +100 against the total interceptions in Super Bowl 57 at -130.

Ovechkin hasn’t faced the Sharks this season but has a solid record against them, with 23 points in 24 career games. In contrast, Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, had 12 interceptions in the regular season, just one off his career worst, but has none in the playoffs this season. Meanwhile, the Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts, had just six regular-season picks and also has none in the postseason.

The top-scoring offenses of the AFC and NFC, Kansas City and Philadelphia, respectively, punt infrequently with only 53 and 55 punts a piece, ranking among the fewest in the NFL alongside Buffalo, Detroit, and Green Bay. The total punts in the Super Bowl is priced at -160 against total goals scored in Super Bowl Sunday’s Edmonton Oilers at Montreal Canadiens matchup at +130.

The Oilers previously defeated the Canadiens 5-3 on December 3rd, and Edmonton leads the league in scoring at 3.74 goals per game, while Montreal is near the bottom of the NHL allowing 3.71 goals per game.
