WWE betting fans are eagerly awaiting the return of NXT to the grand stage as NXT Vengeance Day heads to Charlotte, North Carolina on February 4^th. This will be NXT’s first standalone event outside of Florida in almost three years and promises to be one of the most exciting shows of the year for online sports betting.

Although Vengeance Day is held close to Valentine’s Day, there is no love lost between the competitors this year. Toxic Attraction want to tear the NXT Women’s Championship away from Roxanne Perez, while Bron Breakker and Grayson Waller will settle things once and for all inside the confines of a steel cage.

NXT Championship Steel Cage Match – Bron Breakker

The scion of the legendary Steiner wrestling family, Bron Breakker has impressed across his tenure as NXT Champion. From his epic struggles against Tommaso Ciampa to his epic demolition of Gunther, Breakker is undoubtedly destined for big things on the main roster.

Breakker faced the arrogant Aussie Grayson Waller at New Year’s Evil but the match ended unceremoniously in a count-out to a chorus of boos. WWE Hall of Famer agreed with the crowd and Shawn Michaels set up this rematch pitting Breakker against Waller in a steel cage.

A steel cage would perfectly suit Breakker’s hybrid style of speed and power. In theory, Grayson Waller has nowhere to hide and would be at the mercy of Breakker’s spear. That being said, Waller has shown his ingenuity and outsmarted the champion in recent weeks.

Ultimately, I’m backing Bron Breakker to retain at NXT Vengeance Day. Although I could see Waller sneaking a victory, I feel that we’re building towards Breakker versus Carmelo Hayes on WrestleMania weekend as the two prospects have conspicuously been kept separate from more than a year.

NXT Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match – Roxanne Perez

Although Mandy Rose’s 413 day reign as NXT Women’s Champion came to an end in part for behind the scenes reasons, no one can say that Roxanne Perez is not the future of WWE. 2022 saw Perez enjoy a meteoric rise to the top. Roxanne started the year as Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion before debuting in NXT back in April.

From there, Perez has built up quite the resume: NXT Breakout Tournament winner, NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, debuting against Bayley and Damage CTRL on Smackdown, and becoming the inaugural Iron Survivor.

While Roxanne Perez is on top of the world, Toxic Attraction is in a state of flux. Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin lost the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships back in July and have struggled in the tag division since. Although faction leader Mandy Rose is now gone, adversity seems to have only emboldened Jayne and Dolin.

In what seemed an improbable outcome, both Jayne and Dolin landed feet first at the exact same time during the final moments of an over-the-top-rope battle royal. This afforded the pair the opportunity to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship in a triple threat match.

The NXT Vengeance Day odds have Roxanne Perez retaining the title. I agree with these NXT betting odds and highly doubt that Roxanne will lose in her first defense. However, the dynamic between Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin is fascinating.

Although they are still a tag team and claim to be on the same page, they did try to toss each other over the top rope in the battle royal. Plus, who could forget the ambitious, burning stare Jayne had at the climax of that match. I would be tempted to wager on Jacy Jayne as the dark horse in this match.

NXT North American Championship Match – Wes Lee

Wes Lee’s 2022 was a rollercoaster experience. No real money sports betting experts could have predicted the end of MSK and the rise of Wes Lee as a single’s competitor. The high flyer has bared his soul to the NXT universe who have, in turn, supported Lee through his trials and tribulations.

Wes Lee definitively defeated the former ‘A Champ’ Carmelo Hayes back in November in a match which cemented his position as North American Champion. Now a returning Dijak is focused on the title, setting up this match at Vengeance Day.

Although his character is reminiscent of Marvel’s The Punisher, Dijak has a had a rough go of it in recent years. He actually challenged for this title at the last NXT standalone event, Takeover Portland, before an unfortunate turn as part of the ill-fated Retribution stable. While it’s great to see Dijak back in the ring, I’m not so confident that he can capture the North American title.

Wes Lee is a hardy competitor who has faced large, powerful competitors before. I truly believe that he can and will fell the 6 foot 7 Dijak. At +200, I think these are some great Vengeance Day odds for an underdog who can and does deliver.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match – Fallon Henley & Kiana James

Although Fallon Henley and Kiana James have had their fair share of conflicts in recent weeks, the unlikely duo have a tag team title match at Vengeance Day against the dominant duo of Chance and Carter. Henley and James have clashed over issues inside and outside of the ring, but have forged an uneasy alliance partly due to Brooks Jensen.

Carter and Chance have proven what they’ve told everyone all along – they are deserving champions. After years of build, the duo now hold the record for the longest single reign as NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and have impressed while doing so.

The bookies have Carter and Chance as favorites, but I’m inclined towards Henley and James. The challengers work surprisingly well together as a tag team and both are exceptional competitors. On the other hand, the champions have pretty much done all there is to do in NXT. A long deserved call-up might be in Carter and Chance’s futures, especially given the much healthier women’s tag team division that now exists on the main roster.

NXT Tag Team Championship Fatal Four Way Match – The New Day

The New Day brought the power of positivity to NXT by unseating Pretty Deadly for the tag titles back at Deadline. This completed the New Day’s Triple Crown and further cemented their position as one of the best tag teams in WWE history.

However, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods’ success came at the expense of Pretty Deadly. The two-time NXT Tag Team Champions have been frustrated by New Day in recent weeks. Dangling a rematch in front of the English duo, the New Day have toyed with Pretty Deadly which has allowed interlopers to interfere: Gallus.

The Scottish faction returned from suspension to devastating effect by pinning Pretty Deadly at New Year’s Evil. The field was deepened further by the addition of the Chase University duo of Andre Chase and Duke Hudson. This situation has resulted in a fatal four way tag team match at Vengeance Day.

The latest NXT Vengeance Day betting odds favor Gallus but I’m honestly not so certain. Although I don’t think Pretty Deadly will win (yet), I also don’t feel that Gallus are going to unseat the New Day. The real conflict here is between New Day and Pretty Deadly which I think could be a banger of a match come WrestleMania weekend at NXT Stand and Deliver.

Looking at these odds, I think that New Day is the smart and safe bet to retain at NXT Vengeance Day.

Two Out of Three Falls Match – Carmelo Hayes

The feud between Carmelo Hayes and Apollo Crews has been simmering for weeks and will come to a head at Vengeance Day. The two high-flyers have traded wins, but a two out of three falls match is the perfect way to establish a definitive victor.

Carmelo Hayes is undoubtedly the future of WWE. The two-time former NXT North American Champion has been one of the most unmissable wrestlers over the past eighteen months while drawing praise from Cody Rhodes and Booker T. Crews on the other hand is a former United States and Intercontinental Champion who is enjoying something of a career resurgence.

I believe that Carmelo Hayes will emerge victorious here in what I hope will propel Hayes into a future NXT Championship title match on WrestleMania weekend. But I think that the bookies may be overstating his odds here. Apollo Crews has defeated Hayes before and could certainly do it again. So a wager on Crews could be a smart bet. Ultimately, this match may well steal the show at NXT Vengeance Day.
