Elite Eight Set in Run-up to Super Bowl 57

The NFL postseason field has been trimmed from 14 in the Wild Card Round to eight in the Divisional Round, and we know one thing for sure: no NFC North team will win Super Bowl 57. NFL betting fans were stunned when the sole NFC North representative the third-seeded Minnesota Vikings were upset in their Wild Card game against the No. 6 New York Giants.

Minnesota had been playing with fire all season, winning a league-record 11 games by one score – including a walk-off victory against the Giants in Week 16. The NFC North has spawned the eventual Super Bowl champion five times, with four of those coming from the Green Bay Packers and one by the Chicago Bears.

Online sports betting fans will know that the Detroit Lions are the lone NFC team to never reach a Super Bowl. The Vikings are 0-4 all-time in the big game and haven’t been there since following the 1976 season.

The NFC South has produced the Super Bowl winner three times. That statistic won’t change this year after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost at home to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round, perhaps ending Tom Brady’s career with the Bucs. The Bucs remain the most recent NFC South Super Bowl champions after winning the 2020 title in Brady’s first season in Tampa Bay.

With the NFC North and South divisions out of the running, every other division still has at least one team remaining. Let’s break down the latest sports betting odds for each NFL division to win Super Bowl 57.

Latest NFL Division Super Bowl 57 Betting Odds

Here are the latest Super Bowl betting odds for each NFL division to win Super Bowl 57:

NFL Division Latest Super Bowl Odds Remaining Teams
NFC East +250 Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, NY Giants
AFC West +290 Kansas City Chiefs
AFC East +325 Buffalo Bills
NFC West +425 San Francisco 49ers
AFC North +800 Cincinnati Bengals
AFC South +2,800 Jacksonville Jaguars

NFC East Could Add 14th Title

The NFC East has the most Super Bowl winners with 13 and is the only division with multiple teams still standing. Top-seeded Philadelphia Eagles and Wild Card Cowboys and Giants, both won last weekend to make the NFC East the most successful division this season.

The Eagles host the Giants in the Divisional Round and the Cowboys are at the 49ers. The NFC East is the +250 favorite to have the Super Bowl winner and seem to be the smart bet for real money sports betting fans.

Kansas City Bolster AFC West Odds

The AFC West is second favorite at +290 because Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are the overall +300 favorites to win the Super Bowl for the second time in four seasons. The Chiefs also are the biggest favorites of the Divisional Round at -8.5 against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jags’ AFC South has had only two Super Bowl champions, fewest of any division, and is the +2,800 long shot this time. Jacksonville is one of three AFC teams to never reach a Super Bowl. That being said, the Jags did complete an amazing comeback against the Chargers, so maybe don’t count them out just yet.

Bills and 49ers Lead the Best of the Rest

Should top-seeded Kansas City win as expected, they would not host a record fifth straight conference title game if the No. 2 Buffalo Bills beat the No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. In that particular scenario, the game would be played at a neutral site in Atlanta.

Buffalo held a head-to-head tiebreaker over Kansas City but played one fewer game as the Bills’ Week 17 matchup in Cincinnati was canceled after the collapse of Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin on the field during the first quarter. Buffalo’s AFC East is +325 and Cincinnati’s AFC North is +800 to win the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers are on an NFL-high 11-game winning streak and are +140 favorites to win the NFC. Their NFC West is +425 to win the Super Bowl.
