Cross-Sports Prop Bets Available

NFL betting fans have a week off to catch their breath after a scintillating post-season. Online sports betting fans might be looking for something this weekend and, fortunately for you, some fascinating cross-sports prop bets are currently available!

The National Hockey League is currently on its All-Star break in advance of the All-Star game on Saturday night from Sunrise, Florida. The Florida Panthers host it for the second time, with the last time coming in 2003 (the 2021 All-Star game in Florida was canceled due to COVID-19).

NHL betting fans can already take advantage of some early cross-sports prop bets. Our first featured prop bet is for Philadelphia’s teams: Which is higher among the number of two-minute minor penalties called on the Flyers during their Super Bowl Sunday home game vs. the Seattle Kraken (+100) against total sacks in Super Bowl 57 (-130).

In Philly’s last game before the break, the Flyers had four minor penalties called against them. During the regular season, the Eagles led the NFL with a franchise-record 70 sacks, two shy of the league’s single-season mark. The Chiefs were second with 55.

Caps’ Ovechkin Still Dominant

Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin has caught and passed Gordie Howe for the second-most goals scored in NHL history this season. Ovechkin is still going strong at age 37 with 32 goals and 22 assists in his 52 games, an average of essentially one point per game. His total points for Washington’s home game on Super Bowl Sunday vs. the San Jose Sharks is +100 against total interceptions in Super Bowl 57 at -130.

Ovechkin hasn’t faced the Sharks this season and has 23 points in 24 career games against them. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had 12 interceptions in the regular season (one off his career worst) and none in two playoff games. Eagles counterpart Jalen Hurts had just six regular-season picks and also has none in the postseason.

Super Bowl betting fans will know that Kansas City had the AFC’s top-scoring offense in the regular season and Philadelphia had the NFC’s best, so neither team punted a lot. Kansas City had 53 and Philadelphia 55 – only Buffalo, Detroit and Green Bay had fewer. The total punts in the Super Bowl is priced at -160 against total goals scored in Super Bowl Sunday’s Edmonton Oilers at Montreal Canadiens matchup at +130.

The Oilers beat the Canadiens 5-3 on Dec. 3, and Edmonton leads the league in scoring at 3.74 goals per game, while Montreal is near the bottom of the NHL in allowing 3.71 goals per game.
